Monday March 9, 2015 Halle, Germany

Hallo Familie! I really love being updated with everything that you are doing! You do a very good job at keeping me updated, thanks! So, I only have a couple questions...they are both for dad. Dad, how do you roll your R's?! They do that here and I get made fun of by all the other missionaries because I can’t do it! That sounds worse than it really is. People just like to tease me. Anyways...second question...Banana Bread! Can I have the recipe please? Danke!
For this past week...

Montag: Emailing by the Internet Laden was weird! And lame because we couldn't send pictures at that one. Then we went shopping! I got a skirt and a dress at Orsay! They are really cute and you will see pics of them later I’m sure. We also then had a great family home evening where Corola invited a ton of people and her niece talked to us about her study abroad in Malaysia! Cool!
Dienstag: We had an appointment with a contact named Anthony. But it fell out. So, we decided to go by on one of our investigators Lotte. She was home and invited us in! We talked for a long time and did some How To Begin Teaching, (Refer to PMG (Preach My Gospel) chapter 10 I believe) and she talked a lot about how she feels weird praying because she feels there is no one there. We had a good conversation about how God is there and how he answers and hears prayers. We then met with Schwester Schröter! This is the less active that hasn't been to church in 7 years, has anxiety and all that stuff. She is SO nice though. She loves the sisters and has such a strong testimony. Reads the Book of Mormon every day! She is more faithful than some active members in our ward!

Mittwoch: We had ZTM in Leipzig! I love that city! We go almost every week! I learned a lot about having the right attitude about the language. Mom will know this, but usually with things that are hard I usually have an "I'm never going to be able to do this attitude" and then mom would reply by saying..."Well with that attitude you're sure not!" So, at ZTM I kind of got that answer. With an "I can’t do it" attitude, I'm never going to be able to do it! So, from this day on, I have had a different attitude and I believe it’s working!
Donerstag: Comfort called us and she needed our help to get her from Hauptbahnhof (Central Station) to her house. So we went and picked her up and were going to take a Bahn, however, she made us get in a Taxi, yes I say made because she pretty much pushed us in! Oh she is a funny lady! We didn't die in the taxi and so all is good! We also met with David and had a joint teach with Joni who speaks French!! It went SO good! It was the law of chastity and he said he has no problem with it because he has no girl! So good David! He said he loved the lesson because he could actually tell his feelings and have someone understand! Poor kid! But! We are meeting with him 3 times a week now because we have to make a LOT of progress before his baptism in 3 weeks. Pray for us, and him! We also met with Enrico and talked to him about Patriarchal blessings. I love talking about those because I have such a strong testimony of them! My patriarchal blessing has helped me in my life so much.

Freitag: Weekly planning as always. We had 2 appointments set up and they both fell out. But! We did see David on our way back from going to one of them. He was doing well and we talked for a little bit! He's really funny, and will be a great member! We then had Deutsch and English! BTW if anyone has Idioms (that’s an English thing) would you send them to me? Dad, I'm sure you have some! The people that come to our English class want some!
Samstag: We went finding and gave out English class flyers. Then we met with Trang and I taught her some piano, then we talked about the word of wisdom. Ok, then my FAVORITE part of this week! A girl called us on Wednesday and said she had contact with some missionaries 2 years ago in Germany while she was studying, but then moved back to London and had no contact there. She ended up moving back to Germany and working in Wittenberg, and living in Halle! She was still in contact with the missionaries that had taught her before even though they were home now! So, one of the missionaries gave her our number! Guess who the Missionary was?! Brudder Liddle! My MTC teacher!! So, we met with Lydia at a Cafe called "Bewaffel Dich" It reminds me of Awful Waffle!  (Savannah should know what that is!) She is super cute and has the cutest accent! We set up another appointment and really we can’t wait to meet with her! I LOVE when we have new investigators!

Sontag: Chruch! Always good! David and Maria (investigator also) were both there! Along with a family of 4, that a member brought!! They are now the Elders Investigators! Ah! Miracles are happening! We ate by the Müllers with the Jentztch famile! We then tried to go by on a less active and her 8 year old son. Someone let us into the building (the klingels (?) are weird on that building) so we rang their doorbell inside, but no one answered. So, I thought a lady lived next door that we had also met so I rang their doorbell. It wasn’t the lady who answered, but a guy about 25 and he recognized us as missionaries and invited us in. He had met with missionaries before and found what we believe really interesting. Except for he found it interesting in the fact that he is studying theology and so it was all about school stuff and yeah. The point of this is that one of his roommates came out and it was one of the Knights we talked to that was fighting in the park that one time!! I was SO excited and so he came and talked to us too! He will become a member sometime! We are preparing the Knight (Sabastian is his name) step by step!

Well, that’s about it for my week! We have a goal to have at least 1 appointment every day! We have been doing it! It’s so so good! Loving every minute of missionary work! Remember to always have an "I CAN do it" attitude!
Alle Leibe,

Sister St. John
P.S. I may or may not be shaving my legs today for the first time since I’ve been in Germany! I may, or may not send a picture next week! You will die!

I wore Sister Egbert out our first day! She wasn't used to walking so much! Whoops!
 Some flowers! Its becoming spring!!

Some missionaries in Leipzig! We ate at KFC and it was the best KFC I've ever in my entire life ever had! (ps. I'm getting less photogenic as my mission goes on!)
Comfort, yes we are sitting on her floor!
Sister Egbert! So suß (?)! And a cool bridge!
Us finding one day! We like to trade clothes because we are almost the same height!
Us on Hallmarkt! See! She's only like one inch taller than me!
