Monday March 30, 2015 Halle, Germany

Hallo Family! (and friends, if I have friends that read this that aren’t on missions yet!) Well...this week was eventful! CRAZY things happened really! The Lord is really working everywhere, and on everybody! Sorry about the short letter last week, we were at the internet laden and the keyboard sucked. Plus it was not a good day for me. I haven’t missed home or my family like that in a long time! 1. Dad, how did you have 15 companions?! Are you counting exchanges or something?! 2. We haven’t seen the Women’s General Meeting yet, and I don’t know if I will be able to! But...if you want you could send me some of the talks that I could read for personal study! (That would actually be fantastic if you could do that for me!) 3. I`m so happy for Eliza! Tell her Herzlichen Glückwunsch for me! (congrats) 4. I loved loved loved seeing all the pictures of everyone! Everyone looks great! And old...(just the kids of course)! Crazy how only five months makes a huge difference!

My week...

Montag: We did emails. Then we were supposed to meet with David and Joni for a joint teach lesson, however, David had a Wohnung Termin (apartment date?) he had to go to, so... yeah. We ate lunch with Joni and she is kind of unofficially the manager for this band and it’s pretty cool to hear her stories and all her connections! Actually, if I had a better camera here I could have taken their pictures for flyers and stuff for service. However, my camera is a missionary camera, so I didn`t get to do that! But, I did get to meet the photographer with Joni one day a week or two ago! Then we had FHE! It’s fun! But not very many people come! So…I`m only going to tell you this story if you don’t freak out about it. Because it’s in the past! So, coming home we got off our tram at our stop and like normal a few drunk people got off with us. Usually they go and do their own thing. We crossed the street at the cross walk and were walking to our apartment building when 3 drunk guys crossed the street and started talking to us. We were at our door already, so I was trying to unlock the door quickly, however it was dark and I had the wrong key, so I switched and by that time they were right by us saying not very nice things. Luckily I got the door open, we went in and shut it quickly. Then we had to go upstairs into our actual apartment. As soon as we went inside we could hear them kicking the door, so we ran up the stairs (with no light) and went into our actual apartment. As we were doing so, we heard them break into our apartment building. We went into our apartment, scared to death, didn`t turn on the light and called the Elders. Nothing happened after that really, except for that they didn`t leave our building for another 45 minutes. SO many things could have gone more wrong in that situation! I probably didn`t explain it very well, but I honestly don’t think I’ve been so scared in my entire life! However, all is good! And I pray that we will be safe coming home every night since then!

Dienstag:  We met with David, and he gave us cake and made us bracelets! There’s a picture I will send of that! He’s cool! We also went finding for forever! When we were done for the day, a girl walking with her bike came around the corner (Who walks with their bike?) we talked to her, expecting her to hop on her bike and turn us down! However, she was actually interested! We set up an appointment and she said that it was interesting because she was riding her bike until just like a minute before, and she didn`t really know why she got off, but she did! (I know why she got off;) So we finally, after 5 weeks found a new investigator!! Yes! I made a language study plan, and hopefully that will help me a little bit! I hate teaching myself!

Mittwoch: We had our last district meeting of the transfer! Sad! We also met with David again and taught him a little about conference, prophets, and the book of Mormon. It’s really hard to teach when we don’t have a joint teach! It was also so warm and sunny this day!

Donnerstag: We had a mission wide conference call! That was fun! We talked about the Weil Er Lebt church website and stuff! If you haven’t seen the “Because He Lives” video, go watch it! It’s very good, and we use cards about it for finding a lot! Also, we got the news that we will be getting Ipads in the next couple of months! Crazy! And I don’t know how I feel about technology...or being a Facebook missionary! We will see. We met with Sister Schröter, read in the Book of Mormon, and shard the visiting teaching message in the Liahona. David had his baptism interview. He isn't quite ready for baptism yet! But it’s ok! Because one day he will be! He is very African and has some problems with committing to live the commandments, Even though he lives them anyway. We also met with Enrico. He is so sweet and always has very deep questions that we love answering.

Freitag: Weekly planning for our last week of the transfer! Crazy! We met with David again and watched Finding Faith in Christ video! (In French of course) We then had Deutsch class and English class!

Samstag: It was a little bit of a rough day...companion study was a little rough, just with communication of ideas and stuff. We also had 2 appointments fall out, so that made it even worse. Plus David wasn`t getting baptized, and one of Sis. Egbert’s investigators in Osnabrück was getting baptized, so she was a little sad. But, we did have a good member appointment with the Wutzlers! Plus, we found out there IS a daylight savings time in Germany and it was that night! So that’s good we went there!

Sonntag: Time change...our cellphone (alarm also) isn't very smart and doesn’t change on its own. So we ended up waking up an hour late! Ugh! But we made it to church on time! David wasn’t there! Schade! We went to sister Bunks house to eat! We had Potatoes, and meatballs with sauce. Typisch (typical) Deutsch food! We had our appointment with our new investigator fall through because it was bad weather and she didn’t want to meet in the park anymore. We went to the church and did companion study. I broke down in tears...It’s been a little bit of a different companionship. We don’t work together as well as I would like. However, when I started crying it broke the ice (surprise there) I told her how I was really feeling. She told me how she was really feeling. It’s now better. Man I wish I would have broken down in tears or had the courage to say something 4 weeks ago! Really, I`m here to testify that if you don’t get along with someone, pray for them, serve them, and TALK through your problems. It works, I promise!

Well...this next week is conference week, we have tausch (exchanges), its Easter, we have like 3 eating appointments, zone training meeting, and also transfer calls. At the sisters conference President randomly looked at me and said "Enjoy your next few weeks in Halle."  However, when after I asked him if he was serious he said, "Well, the last few weeks of the transfer that is." So...who knows! I kind of feel like I’m leaving! Sad! This week is going to be busy and stressful! Wish me luck! I love you guys! Have a great Easter! It’s one of my favorites! Also, don’t forget to take an Easter picture by our door! And look at the Because He Lives video!
